Didn't Greenlee have a huge St play last year in the playoffs?
That would have been fine as well.
These are our last 4 classes.
2016 - 22
2015 - 25
2014 - 22
2013 - 23
So an average of 23 per class.
85 divided by 4.5 assuming you redshirt half of FR would give you an average class of 19 players with no attrition.
We just happen to be in a year where we are not going to take that many players. We could take more as well, but we are just not going to reach of players to fill slots this year. I would expect next year to be bigger than it seems on paper right now.
We also process plenty of players, but we don't take JUCOs and we haven't had a non-qualifier since 2014 (Oglesby), so that limits the size of our classes from year to year. The teams that take 25 each year typically have lots of non-qualifiers and JUCOs like South Carolina.
I would imagine if you take out non-qualifiers and count JUCOS as .5 versus 1 then we would probably have attrition of like 1 less player a year compared to your average team.
From TI. This guy seems somewhat plugged in:
NewJust a few thoughts here.
- The staff is and has been very high on Felix. That's not my opinion of him as a prospect but the staff and Scott and Elliot in particular like him a lot. Elliott had lobbied to add him WITH Richardson still in the mix.
- Morris was in the game at RG in the 1st quarter Saturday. Don't think he is getting ran off.
- Green is done. He can't go anymore.
- The hope is Fruhmogen is back. Reasonable expectation he is.
- I've heard rumblings that Shadell Bell may be looking for playing time elsewhere. FWIW ive also hearf the staff has talked to him and discouraged it.

Sucks about Green. Liked his versatility coming in out of hs but injuries derailed his career.
Noticed Green wasn't in pads for the game and thought it was strange. There hasn't been much discussion about him as far as why he hasn't been getting snaps or injuries.
Do we know what OL are early enrollees?
Think it's just Vinson. There aren't a lot of EE in this class.
Back to 85 (counting current commits) with early entries and Dye/Fruhmorgen gone. Number will likely decrease in coming weeks as we find out the status of guys like Wiggins.
So we're currently at 86 right?
Dabo also said today whoever won the punting job would be put on scholarship in the fall.
Don't think Spiers is on scholarship. Unless you are assuming he'll win the job.
Every senior redshirted and is a fifth year guy. Gotta think that's pretty rare.
So with the 2019 class having 27 is that something where to help even out we could literally potentially sign like 23-24 and save a few for the next class?
Yeah, I'm not as tuned into the walk ons. I believe I usually get that info from you. If it's not him, I don't know who #86 is right now. I also assume the attrition to 85 will unfortunately be Green.
You have Anchrum listed twice. We are at 84 right now, 85 if and when the punter is given a scholarship.
Also counting someone at nickel but no name there?
Anchrum is listed twice but not counted twice.
That's it, the Nickel. I moved Carter. Gracias.
An early look at 18
That team could be incredible
Always love @Aitch spreadsheets
Do we think Hyatt will stick around for his senior season?
Good stuff, Aitch.
One change. Cervenka moved to OC this year.
I had that on 17, just hadn't made the move on 18. Will do. Thanks.
I'd say Hyatt and Wilkins on there is pretty optimistic, but you never know with injuries and desire to graduate and whatnot.
Hyatt, Wilkins, Cain, and Ferrell could all easily choose to leave.
I have them on my list of guys probably leaving next year. That would put us at 14, there will be some attrition as well. It's why I am sticking with the 19 number for the '18 class.
Agreed, as you can see by red shirts, I anticipate at least 17.
I don't know what his personal expectation is. He's gonna have to get better though. To be a 1st rounder anyway.
He will have to avoid giving up any sacks. Umm wait ....
Yea he never gets beat....
He's a good player. He got beat a good bit when he quit moving his feet. He got bailed out by Deshaun a shit ton.
Hyatt is a good OT. The sack number is misleading because Watson was near impossible to sack. He isn't a dominate LT yet.
Still could easily go pro next year.
Wilkins is the closest to a lock to go followed by Hyatt, Cain and Ferrell.
Cain really transformed physically this past off-season. If he takes another big step he's gonna have a monster year. He's gonna have a big year anyway being the #1.
I think Ferrell is gone. He's a monster.
Walt thinks Powell will be wr#1
