Advocating order over justice when there is racial and economic subjugation is implicit acceptance of those things.

Yet their cops killing blacks being an epidemic has been outright proven to be a lie. The whole entire movement has been proven to be a lie

You know what the economic problem is for black people? That whites created social programs that encourage single mothers. That's where the real racism happened yet lord forbid they attack the meal ticket. Take away awful childhoods which we create millions of per year with those social programs and we take a giant part of that economic problem away

It's so easy yet it'll never happen. We'll only allow the true racists in the Democratic party to hurt them even more while packaging the hurt as a great benefit

White privilege exists. Black people are treated differently by many people and cops.
Think we have to admit that.

There's not a lot of compassion from some on here.

I wonder what would've happened if a black man drove drunk and crashed into some cop car on the way home from a Clemson game.

No it doesn't. Slavery did not exist when I was born. Jim Crow laws did not exist when I was born. All of the equal opportunity legislation was the law of the land when I was born. Access to education and career were guaranteed for minorities before I was born.

I will be damned if I will blame myself for the problems of anyone alive today. The opportunities are there, more so even for the so called poor. They stay poor because they are lazy and have been made so lazy by government coddling programs.

It's not about blaming yourself of feeling guilty. It's simply recognizing that the playing field is far from level Styx.

No. It is about acknowledging the gifts of everyone when given opportunity. Minorities in my lifetime have been given opportunities. Not denied education.

The ultimate responsibility lies on the individual at this point. Enough balance has been given to minorities. At this point, it has become an anchor because the excuse is a crutch.

Minorities have been granted so much in the way of benefits that white privilege is not only an insult to white people, but also an insult to any minority individual.

I realize the conversation has changed a little, but I'd like to readdress this. You do understand that protests/activism are meant to break peace or the status quo, in order to draw attention and change to something? Saying MLK should have been "more peaceful" makes zero sense.

Also breaking the peace /=/ "militant asshole" or violence. MLK was very anti-violent protest.

MLK being portrayed as the black version of Ghandi and always being an advocate of the nonviolent civil disobedience movement has always been a fucking myth. A complete and total lie.

If you want to accept the fact that people like MLK were not the goddamn Saints that they are portrayed of then good. But I doubt it.

there is no data or evidence to show these things to be true

just because you feel something doesn't make it true

countries that have far more robust social welfare programs, the opposite of the US, not surprisingly have much more robust social mobility, you know that thing that measures ability to change economic status from birth. we lag embarrassingly far behind comparable countries when we still try to sell the american dream as anything but an empty bag of gold.

And yet America in spite of being saddled and shackled by the horrors of capitalism is still the destination of all immigration that can pass the test.

I love how you always advocate other systems, yet remain under the prison of capitalism.

By the way, we are shackled here in America by diversity, something that great economies in South Korea and Japan don't deal with and economies in Sweden and Denmark are just beginning to deal with.

The economies in Europe will be fun to watch.

MLK was a wretched human who somehow could give amazing speeches. Anyone who uses donations to fund a hooker habit and beats their wife shouldn't be deified imo.

On the topic argued above lyrtch thinks anyone who doesn't agree with his socialist leaning ideals is a bigoted neanderthal while Styx just doesn't want to fund the undeserving.

The epidemic (yes it is one if anything is) of childhood poverty (the single greatest deterrence of becoming a successful adult) will never be defeated as long as there's such easy access to social programs. Lyrtch and his socialist ideals can not like that fact all he wants but it remains a fact. As long as women can get housing, money, tax benefits, food stamps, and other benefits just by having a child(ren) there will always be millions of kids born for the purpose. Social programs create a class of dependents, a class of criminals, a class handicapped by their environment. There's only one solution to greatly curbing that and the only way lyrtch will deny that is if he's fine with looking like an idiot.

Social programs keep the poor poor and create even more poor. They harm our society like nothing else does. There's zero incentive for them to try when they're used to their way of life. Their parents didn't care about their education and they will not care about their children's education. The wealthy need the lower class and give these programs and pass laws to ensure they will always be there.

Social programs the way most are set up today are just a breeding program for the poor.
