Should I watch Olympus Has Fallen before seeing London Has Fallen?
Favorite movies I've seen in the last 6 months: The Big Short, Spotlight, Deadpool, Bridge of Spies, the Martian.
Picked up The Martian and Straight Outta Compton from the Redbox.
Enjoyed both very much.
I watched spotlight this weekend. For a sad story, it was a great movie and great acting.
Also loved the big short.
At B v S right now, starts in 15 minutes. People seem to like it or hate it.
I give MOS a 8.0, so I suspect I'll be in the former. Will report back around 1:00 with my rating and nothing else.
I just got back from BvS. I'm pretty disappointed. There is some decent stuff in it but it's not a very good movie. I thought MoS was significantly better.
How does is stack up with the Nolan franchise? I personally did not hate MoS and really like Cavill, but I didn't think it was anywhere close to the TDK/TDKR. I thought MoS was comparable in overall quality to Batman Begins, though I liked the cast in BB much better overall.
BvS looks gay as hell
Nowhere close to the Nolan trilogy for me but Batman isn't the issue with this movie. Affleck was better than I expected. There are some big story and pacing problems and Snyder continued to show that he doesn't really like what the Superman character is supposed to be about. I thought he would've learned his lesson from MoS but he exacerbated the problem in this one.
Is Eisenberg as annoying as most of the reviews seem to make him out to be? I really liked him in The Social Network and Zombieland, but the previews did nothing for me there. I'm guessing having a CGI creation as another major character doesn't help matters.
A lot to process.
The first, and only, preview I saw for BvS made me think it was a claymation or Lego movie.
Who is the CGI creation?
Btw, the new star wars Blu Ray has leaked if y'all torrent.
Doomsday. On mobile but google it. Looks awful.
saw wonder woman yesterday
it was good
A few more details? Thinking of seeing it this weekend. Some lofty reviews saying it's the best super hero movie ever.
I hadn't thought about it but I guess I would put it as my favorite super hero movie. My favorite before this was the original Dark Knight movie.
It was all around a good movie. Acting was good, loved the time period, the romance angle didn't seem forced and cool fight scenes were above average. The end boss was pretty cool too.
Happy 30th anniversary for Spaceballs
Also, can't wait to go see Dunkirk.
That looks damn good. Just saw Wonder Woman and enjoyed it
Even these fools took our slogan "all in".
I'd be more excited about Justice League if it had anyone but Ben Affleck playing Batman.
Has there been discussions as to who Alfred is talking to at the end of the trailer?
Looks like a red outline, probably Superman.
A guy at the SDCC claims he was shown three pictures by WB. One was the JL (without Batman) carrying a coffin, the second was the coffin open with a "dead" Clark Kent inside, the third was a shirtless confused Superman facing off against Cyborg/WW/Flash/Aquaman.
So they kill him off only to resurrect him? Don't like that at all. Marvel has done the same with Loki a few times and I'm not a fan. If you want to kill someone off then kill them off and move on.
They're not going to keep Superman dead. Most important hero in the DCEU (or should be). One of the criticisms that I agree with in BvS is that his death wasn't earned; do that after JL or maybe MOS2 and it has more weight to it.
I wish there was more star power in the Avengers trailer. Too many unknown actors/characters.
Saw Justice League and was not a big fan.
You bring back Superman who single-handily dominates the big bad guy. A big bad guy who the other 5 couldn't contain, much less defeat. Not really a Justice League at all, more so Superman and others who help out from time to time.
Yea, I agree. Superman was so much more powerful than all the other heroes AND the big bad combined. It's like he's just a consultant they called in that fixed everything in 5 minutes. How do you even care about the other Heroes after that. Those people that love Superman will probably like it because he's definitely Super as fuck in it.
Really unhappy with the studio mandate to cut the movie to 2 hours (which took out the villain's motivation and a lot of backstory for Aquaman/Flash/Cyborg) and Whedon's desire to play it safe instead of exploring the themes from the first two movies. They took zero risks and it's a dull movie as a result.
I also thought Elfman's soundtrack was awful; would much rather they kept Zimmer.
I haven't seen it but glad to hear its not over two hours. Hollywood has lost its ability to edit movies. And I can't sit still for longer than two hours.
