As long as it's not an Episode 6 remake I'm good with it.
It's going to be incredible just like VII and the Star Trek reboot. Abrams is the king of nerds.
Yeah this is a big upgrade over the Book of Henry guy
Just saw this at halftime.
Has me pretty excited
Only redeeming quality of that piece of shit game.
This guy is a nerf herder
Anyone who puts any of Episode 1-3 through in a ranking system anywhere except the bottom 3 spots is clearly a horrible human being.
Is that supposed to be anyone we should know?Almost can get twitter verified
Ticket sales started today as well.
Does everyone have their tickets yet? I do and now I'm trying to choose my costume.
I'll see it, but Star Wars just doesn't move the needle for me. Much more excited about the return of Stranger Things.
First reviews are in and I’m getting a nerd boner.
That movie was much better than #7
That was fantastic. So many great scenes.
The binary suns scene with Luke at the end made me tear up. Such a great job returning Luke to being a badass.
Really pissed that the front page of yahoo had major spoilers in a story title and then apparently had a spoiler warning in the article.
Like what the fuck.
Super fucking angry and whoever is responsible for that big a fuck up should honestly be fired
Agreed. At first I was disappointed because I thought it was going to be a carbon copy of the Obi Wan death, but nope. Nothing about that movie was a copy, unlike #7. I just don't see how they go from where they left this one to finishing the trilogy in one movie. Seems like there is a shitload of ground to cover from the end of this one to a final confrontation on any front. Also - Rian Johnson is getting his own new trilogy.. is that little kid at the very end of the movie a teaser for that?
Did they really? Fuck them, what fucking asshole decides that is a good idea
I assume IX will be set several years later after the rebellion has built back up.
They better not let JJ retcon anything about Rey's parentage in IX.
Spoiler free please
I liked the movie as a whole it had a few wtf moments but the last 40ish minutes were glorious.
And abrams is doing that one so it'll likely just be a carbon copy of ROTJ. Johnson's interpretation was so much better.
Apparently did same thing with game of thrones a few years back but I had already read the books
What was the spoiler?
This is what I think as well. Though everything I thought would happen did not so who knows.
Still processing the movie. I will say it’s good. However I may always think of the original 3 as the only Star Wars
Love the originals but no way I could put RotJ on par with Last Jedi and probably not Force Awakens either.
It was way, way better than force awakens. Johnson made his own Star Wars movie rather than taking what Lucas did and updating it
I enjoyed it. I thought the story was good. I have some complaints and I don't think it was as good as VII but it's still a great movie.
1) Everything with the Finn sidequest was unnecessary, contrived, and not super well done. Tracking through hyperspace is too game changing going forward--I wish they'd found another reason they couldn't escape. The casino planet was lame, too.
2) I kept feeling like they explained too much with dialogue. Some things would've gone better if they'd trusted the audience to infer them. I realize this is a curmudgeonly complaint thought... they probably need to do this for kids and bringing aboard the next generation of Star Wars fans is a fine reason I suppose.[/quote]
It seems the Star Wars uber-nerds tend to hate it. I can certainly see why. Doesn't have much respect for the previously established "physics" of the world and doesn't accomplish much for an overarching story for either this "trilogy" or the main saga as a whole.
On the other hand, it's an entertaining two and half hours as long as you don't expect Star Wars to be anything more than a merch and ticket grab for Disney.
It was entertaining for sure. Some great and not-so-great parts to it.
The most damning thing IMO is this: after TFA, Ep. 8 couldn't get here soon enough for me. I couldn't wait to see what happened next.
After watching (and mostly enjoying) TLJ, I don't really care about how the story ends and I'm not excited at all about Ep. 9. The last 30 minutes would have worked better as the ending to the final movie.
