Just make sure not to wander off the paths
It's been rumored for a while with them closing quite a few rides at Studios the past year, but glad to see the reveal. Too bad I already moved.
I'm gonna get drunker than a nerf herder at the Mos Eisley Cantina!
That looks great. So pumped for Episode VII.
Loved all of the Han they show. Looks awesome.
Looks like they did a really fucking good job, and they can keep putting trailers and teasers out without spoiling anything. Can't wait
Looks great. So without spoiling anything, whats the basic plot for Episode VII?
No one really know because they've done a good job being secretive. But it looks like Luke is in self-imposed exile, and someone is putting the band (The Empire) back together. Supposedly, it's been fragmented in the 20+ years since ROTJ, with local moffs having their own fiefdoms.
It's now the Resistance (good guys, like the Rebels) vs. the First Order (like the Empire). I don't think this spoils much but I know a lot want as little as possible so I'll put the most likely plot in spoilers.
Kylo Ren is the guy in the mask with the red light saber. He is an apprentice of sorts to the Supreme Leader of the First Order, and a member of the Knights of Ren (guys you see standing in the rain with dead bodies all around). Similar to Vader and Palpatine, but they aren't Sith.
The general consensus with Han saying "it's all true" seems to be that most people think of the Force as myth nowadays (movie is 30 years after the Battle of Endor/events of RotJ). Finn (Boyega) and Rey (the girl) are the main protagonists that are going to learn of the Force (with eventually Luke returning to teach/help) and fight the First Order guys. i.e. "The Force Awakens"
There's a lot more out there about who is related to who and who likely dies, but I got really mad when I accidentally read it so I'll leave it out
Seems likely that Finn is going to be searching for Luke the whole movie to be his apprentice? The first trailer released had that narrative from luke, yet they never actually show anything but him touching R2 in their trailers. Hopefully we get some OG luke skywalker lightsaber fighting towards the end.
that trailer is a top 10 film ever made
Yeah my expectation is that Luke will only be in a few scenes towards the end, and that's to play a role similar to what Yoda did with him. There's one theory that his grand appearance will be to show up when Finn is fighting Kylo and bails him out in a badass fight. Would be so awesome.
I shouldn't want to see a movie this much.
if you think that's good, the english version will blow you away
This has to be an all time record amount of money spent on advertising. There is star wars stuff on the creamer in my refrigerator and on a box of cereal we have. It's everywhere.
Make sure you read/watch this story.
I so fucking excited for this movie. Haven't been excited about many lately, but this one is doing it. Seeing it in IMAX on the 18th, can't wait
Got my tickets for 7:30 on 12/17 in Spartanburg. @cuwoodchipper are you going to one of the first showings? Trying to decide who to dress like.
Possibly a midnight showing somewhere, so the fam won't be inconvenienced by my absence. No dressup, I'm scary enough already.
Trying to convince @statebird to join me. He's never seen a Star Wars movie and is currently working his way through the blu-ray set (and ignoring my advice to skip Eps. 1-3).
DVU WATCH PARTY
I can admit it...gets a little dusty when I watch those previews. I don't acknowledge the most recent three (although the ending with the transition to Vader was awesome), but I am enough to have seen Return of the Jedi in the theater. These previews definitely make me nostalgia hard. I wouldn't even consider myself a Star Wars geek, but everyone of a certain age loved them some Star Wars back in the day.
Don't know how nerdy y'all are but the animated series Clone Wars is pretty awesome. Gets a lot less "kiddy" after the first season.
Haven't watched Rebels yet but have heard the same. They're both about the only canon left and they're on Netflix
I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies. May binge watch all day Sunday while I nurse the inevitable victory induced hangover.
I've never been more confident that a movie is going to be awesome.
Think I'd rank this the #4 film of all time. (After the EpVII U.S. theatrical trailer, EpVII Japanese theatrical trailer, and EpVII U.S. TV spot.)
buddy of mine felt that way about titanic. who doesn't like a movie about a sinking ship? /arkadin
This guy passed away overnight. Very cool they were able to fufill his final wish.
