Do you mind me asking were you what area what live in, and what kind of habitat you hunt hogs in? The hogs in the low country of South Carolina love to bask in Switch Cane.

I live in Jacksonville. Occasionally get invited to a 30K acre ranch in Jax on the Intercoastal. We hunt all over it so its a mixed bag of habitat. For hogs, we are hunting over deer feeders in cleared fields near wetlands. It seems a lot of the big boys like to chill deep in pine wetland and have become nocturnal.

Our group of eight recovered 21 hogs last night. Another Clemson buddy got the cash for killing eight.

See that bitch above. There are some big ass hogs on that property although I imagine that they can get larger in cooler temps.

Oh, and where is that so I can kill it?

Montmerenci sc. Right outside Aiken sc

We got about 300 acres of cotton fields plus some timber.

Biggest one last year was 450 pounds. Huge bitch.

They are a huge nuisance to us.

    Added a few more.

Can we add fishing to this thread? Anyone know of good charters out of the Folly/Charleston area? Looking for Reds.

I've been looking forward to these two weeks all summer. Teal season started last weekend, we've had some fronts sweeping through, and a good bit of rain to put some water on the marshes. I work at a wildlife refuge, so I could easily hunt for a few hours and just go to the office. Nope. Got 4" of rain on saturated soil last week. The entirety of the refuge is now under feet of water. Likely fucked for the entire duck season.

We just moved to our lake house in prosperity. It sits on 20 acres. I'm seeing armodillas constantly out here. Has anyone else been seeing them? I'm putting a new scope on my grandads 22 I inherited and am about to go on a shooting spree.

Lots of good bucks on our property this year. Hoping for the best.

Those little fuckers are tough. We popped a couple with a 223 with thermal scope at night last year. Could see the heat from the blood. See them roll across the ground. Then run off

Nah, we were shooting from 150+. 22 should be fine.

As an aside, they are the loudest animals I know. It's infuriating sitting in a stand and hearing something trudging the the woods with the thought its a big pig, then finding out its a dinky ass armadillo.

Sorry some of these are sideways - photobucket is bullshit. Unfortunately none of these are mine but they were all taken off our property.

Pheasant season opens Saturday, ready to finally get out hunting. Duck season opened a few weeks ago, but it's pretty awful so far. No birds moving, and very little water around for them if they did pass through. Hopefully something changes soon

Winter was weird, couple that with a bunch of warm, clear, windless days and unfortunately you get shitty duck hunting. And like you said, water is really sparse.

Taking the fam to the Caribbean next week and have booked my first bone fishing trip with a guide. Any tips or suggestions? I'm falling in love with fly fishing so am really looking forward to this experience.

We went trout fishing up around Bryson City this past weekend. Caught one really nice. Had an even bigger brown roll twice at my bait at the same spot. Damn good time. Took several back and grilled them that night. Really really good.

Anyone else gearing up for the season? I recently bought two Spartan GoCams and am pretty excited about them. Being able to get instant feedback throughout the day while you're at work or at home is going to be a game changer.
