Don't get me wrong, I hope they never win another game. It would be fine with me if they hired clay Travis. I just don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be.

Go work for an AD that sabotaged his predecessor, and stabbed his former boss in the back to get the head coaching job? No fucking way any smart coach would go there.

Plus if they don’t turn around quick the fanbase will eat that head coach. Arkansas would be a good one with lower expectations and probably a longer leash. They’d be smart to hire Morris I think.

I wouldn't want to work for fulmer. Who knows how long he's going to be there and I'd want to work for an AD knowing he had my back.

UT has the best shot to actually be pretty good, but the AD situation would be a red flag and it is also a rebuild. So is almost every job, but Vols don’t have much talent in my estimation and nothing at QB.

What UT board is that from?

He'd be a moron to take it. Let me guess...this poster would buy stock in a company on the brink of bankruptcy was well? The place is an extremely toxic environment and a dumpster fire...who lets social media control their AD.

well social media won't be controlling their ad any longer, especially after they hired a guy too old to understand the internet or facebook.

    Venables quote:

“I’ve just been at three places… and at all of those places ultra successful,” Venables said. “But the leadership at all three of those places was as good as it gets. So I think that that’s a deal breaker when you’re looking at those situations, and so I think what we have, what I have at Clemson now and what I’ve experienced is not the norm. And when you can get that now all of a sudden the stars are, quote, starting to align, so that’s important to me if I’m going to pick up my family. And the Clemson move was easily the hardest thing I’ve done in my professional career. And the people were great. But just very loyal.”

Doesn’t seem that UT has the alignment that Venables is after. Also can’t imagine working for a former coach who is rumored to have sabotaged the preceding coach and A/D to get those jobs.

I dont think that will be a worry. Ive said it in other threads. That is Dabo's job to turn down when ole Nicky Satan calls it quits.

A lot of people think Swinney might stay at Clemson, though, when that time comes.

    • I hate to be nasty, but screw him. If he wants to go to Clemson and win a national championship, then he needs to get his ass in his car and head to SC. I sure won't mourne his loss.

If he wants to stay home with the team his dad played for--the team he supposedly LOVES--then, he should do that. Being at Tennessee didn't hurt Barnette, Dobbs, and Kamara in their pro aspirations. If his ego requires him to go to Clemson or THE OSU because thats what he feels he needs to validate the fact he is a real winner, then go ahead on. A really good coach can win with severral three star and a few four star players. Let Cade Mays 'do what's best for his career'. I hope we beat his ass in the national championship game in his senior year. Flame away.

Sorry, I misspoke--I meant to say 'fat ass'.

I like the dude that points out the 3 guys they've had drafted in the last like 6 years. Hell they went back to back drafts without a single player drafted and Kamara would've been a top 5 pick of Tennessee had any idea what to do with him.

Totally unrelated, but couldn't we have had Kamara when he transferred and we decided to pass?

You sure about that? I remember him visiting us when he first announced he was leaving Bama, and us getting our hopes up he was coming here. Thought he decided to go to JuCo for a year and that's when we decided to back off.

His arrest at Bama was pretty minor.

    • Trevor Lawrence just retweeted Cade Mays with these emojis... That could just be him telling Cade to consider coming to Clemson.

But it could also mean he’s reevaluating Clemson as his top choice. Maybe he wants to go where Cade is. If we can get Cade back, there might be a chance to get Lawrence to come with him.

For Cade it's about ships. Champion and relation. Pittman has worked his tail off to promote a vision of Cade being a top 5 pick.

With Clemson, it's about the relationships he has with people there, and a solid locker room atmosphere he feels comfortable in.

    • It's too bad he will just be another Knoxville kid taking a dump on the team he grew up loving. It makes me appreciate REAL Tennessee Volunteers like Trey Smith so much more. Maybe we can start causing Tennessee kids to be proud to be Volunteers again. The stench of kiffydoofeybooch will take a while to cleanse. Clemson is pissing me off, they are nothing but vultures.

It is kind of weird to think that there will never be another recruit born last century. Except for those "exceptional" Bentley situations.
