    New season, new thread.

Dabo said first meetings with the 2017 team and new senior leaders is tomorrow.

    This wasn't a one-off, we building a dynasty boys.

Predictions on new starters? New leaders? Who steps up? Who improves big time? Redshirt guys who have a breakout season?

Short thoughts are we will probably need an all-time defense to get back to the CFP. Seems like replacing those guys on offense and especially IV will be a bigger challenge than what we did with the defense even having to do it two years in a row.

I expect Wilkins to be the defensive leader. Offense who knows.

Obviously depends on how the schedule sets up but we could get back. Not saying we will because we need a lot to fall into place, but when you return 28 of 30 on the lines, we have the foundation to make a run if certain guys step up.

It will come down to WR/QB play I think. The defense will be solid and I'm not really worried about RB. If we even get a QB that performs at 80% of Watson's level we could be right back in the playoffs.

WR is going to be really good again. It's going to come down to QB on offense and LB/DB on defense. More worried about DB than LB

I'm sure someone will correct a spelling error somewhere, and I feel my numbers are off, but I can't find where.

We'll be more than fine at lb and db. Every year a safety comes seemingly out of nowhere to have a big year and we have talent at corner. Venables is all that needs to be said about lb. DOD, Joseph, and Lamar will be studs

Have we had a safety play a productive snap of football in our last two title games?

This year's safety play against Bama may have been worse than last year considering the person playing QB. Johnson and Van Smith were completely lost out there. I really want one of Wallace or Simmons to be a stud.

Defense could be our best since 2014...which was goat defense imo.

Obviously replacing Watson is the biggest question. Replacing Williams, Scott and Legett's production will be tough. Can Cain step up when we're depending on him to be the man? Can we count on him to lead the team in the offseason? Hopefully the young guys on offense hear nothing but how much the offense will be down next year and work their asses off in the offseason.

Love that we've got so many experienced bodies on both lines coming back.

Defense should be great and good enough to make every game on our schedule winnable. Really excited that we can throw in talent like Shaq, Kelly and Pinckney after a year in the weight room. I'm worried about S the most. Thought Van Smith regressed as the season went on and we didn't really get any valuable snaps for anyone at FS behind Jadar. Who knows what we have with Simmons, Wallace or Muse at this point. Really sucks that we missed on McKinney.

It'd be nice if we could find a punter.

I have no clue what McKinney is thinking. He could start day one here if he's talented enough. And if he's not, he's going to have a hard time finding the field at Alabama.

QB is obviously going to be very interesting for the next few years. Still curious how that pans out. Redshirt brice, Israel transfers and bryant 3rd string? If Cooper wins, what happens with Johnson?

Apparently Bama's semester starts in February so he should be able to enroll early there and supposedly he could not be an early enrollee here for whatever reason. I do not know if that is true that is just what I've been told by someone.

He wouldn't be mopping up though.. I'd hope that the loser between Johnson / Cooper gets every snap not taken by the other.

Israel isn't gonna transfer and cooper will eventually be the starting QB next year. Not worried about anything on the D. As long as venables is here i won't worry about it dude is the best coordinator in the game. And put me in the group that thinks feaster starts day 1

Really hope Van Smith isn't starting next year, he's the worst starter on D and it's not even close. Felt this way before the blown coverage in the title game, can anyone tell me what he is good at? Slow, undersized, piss poor in pass coverage and mediocre against the run at best. Excuse the Rage, the OJ Howard TD put me over the edge, such a liability on an otherwise filthy defense.
